Today's passion for the leaders of tomorrow: into Lagos state!

From a relaxing holiday in Gombe, my next interview happens in Nigeria's most boisterous state: a one-time FCT, and the hub of Nigerian commercial activities.

My guest this month is Ekundayo Favour Jesutofunmi, a young Nigerian graduate passionate about pedagogy and schoolchildren.

Ekundayo Favour Jesutofunmi was born on 20th October, 2000, in Oko, a village in southwestern Nigeria. She started her formal education as a 2-year-old at Keystone International Schools, Effurun, Delta State. Her family then moved to Abeokuta where she finished her primary Education in His Grace Nursery and Primary School. 

Her Secondary Education was in Charis International College, Abeokuta after which she proceeded to study Primary Education Studies (otherwise called Early Childhood Education) in the prestigious University of Ilorin.

Favour has had a number of leadership roles and impact which has spanned throughout her life as far back as primary School as a Senior Prefect and a Member of the debating Club both in Primary and Secondary school.

Favour has had more than 4 years of teaching and impacting students in primary and secondary schools.

Her recent impacts and works in the education and social impact sector includes her 1 year mandatory youth service in a community secondary school in the Northern part of Edo State. During her time there, Favour had the opportunity to facilitate the teaching of Mathematics in all the Senior Secondary Classes in Osu Mixed Commercial Grammar School, Uneme-Akiosu, Akoko-edo local government area.

She helped students to an average level of increased performance in Mathematics by employing the use of innovative techniques and real life examples to teach and illustrate geometry, ratios and word problems in most of the topics taught.

In conjunction with NCCF, She staged a symposium for teenagers and young adult which was tagged 'DOMINION- MY PURPOSE'.

She also spearheaded a project to refurbish the school library which was a success to an extent, with about 70 books which are in accordance with the present curriculum for senior secondary school classes.

A reading conference and essay competition with the title "A READER'S MIND- A GOLD MINE OR A DUMP SITE" will also be hosted in the school on her account this month.

She is presently an IT graduate trainee in Zeta-Web Nigeria Limited, where she is learning the Rudiments of Project Management, Networking, Cyber security, IT Service Mangement and Cloud Computing.
