An Afro-pop/Highlife Artiste's Perspective: into the FCT, Abuja!

October is Nigeria’s independence anniversary month. In the spirit of celebration, I was in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, where I had the privilege of sitting down with DETAILMADEIT for an exclusive interview.

DEATAILMADEIT

DETAILMADEIT is a record label owner, studio owner, and a video director who has worked closely with some famous names in the music industry, notably, his collaboration and close friendship with Odumodublvck stands out as a testament to his art.

In this exclusive interview for Naija in the Mix, the conversation takes us on a journey through what the beginning of DETAILMADEIT's music was, exploring how his BSc. in Business/Management and a Masters Degree in Audio Production intertwine to help him brilliantly  juggle roles as a producer, songwriter, and recording artist while maintaining an artistic equilibrium. The artiste also speaks of how he incorporates his Nigerian roots from Abia state to enrich his musical art.

Dream collaborations, musical aspirations, and the messages he aims to convey to his audience are all shared in this exclusive interview. Beyond the spotlight, DETAILMADEIT invites us briefly into his personal life, emphasizing the paramount importance he places on family, speaking on the intertwining of the creative space with cherished moments spent with loved ones.

DETAILMADEIT also talks about his creative process, touching on the peculiarities of his artistic process, especially in a time when humans and machines struggle for survival. "AI has come to stay, but interestingly, humans have stayed longer on earth," comments.

Speaking on any advice he would give to aspiring artistes, "Be creative, but know that there's something beyond creativity," he says.

Join me on the 25th of October, 2023 as I bring my interview with DETAILMADEIT, straight from the FCT, Abuja!
