Home, sweet home: into Gombe State!

It's that's time of the year when people travel home to spend the holidays with their family.

This month, I'll be in Gombe state for the holiday season, and in light of that, I'll be speaking with my childhood friend, Stephen Sunday La'abes.

Stephen Sunday La'abes

Stephen Sunday La'abes has a background in advocacy with over 4 year’s professional experience in Nonprofit; he is a Global Goals advocate and an UNLEASH alumni devoted towards transforming the world through advocacy and social community awareness. He is the Programs Manager of the Philip La'abe Foundation, an organization committed to promoting a society where basic human needs are met through advocacy for justice, transparency, and accountability.

Stephen is passionate about youth development-oriented activities and has served in various roles as a youth worker. He currently serves as a volunteer with The Lawrence Foundation, an organization that creates awareness and puts up a fight against drugs and alcoholism. He is also the convener of Visionary Network, a non profit organization committed to building the confidence of the young[er] generation to stand firm in their fight against any form of illiteracy.

Other programmes he has worked with include Africa Check Fact Ambassadorship Program.

Stephen has written extensively on challenges and problems that are facing Nigeria and the globe at large.

Join me this month as I bring you a detailed interview with Stephen , where we will be discussing his various roles and the challenges that come with executing youth-centred policies as he works with community developers and social workers.

Our interview will go live on the 25th of December (yes, you got it -Christmas!), so we will be asking Stephen to discribe a typical Christmas in Billiri local government area of Gombe State, and what interests him the most about growing up in northeastern Nigeria!

Mark your calendars, sit tight for 25th December, and here's to wishing you an awesome holiday season!
